Free at Last!

It has been a long time since 1968. Grant Park now sees hope and inevitable change. Forty years ago it saw blood and ignorance. The sixties saw the death of RFK who is upstairs now, finally, realizing a dream for this country. Hopefully, starting Jan. 21, 2008, a period of peace and responsibility will envelope us all! Thanks to all of us who can still remember what the sixties were all about!

Oh Haley, My Haley!

Update on Miss Haley - she is going Thursday for her 7th chemo treatment. Her 5th was not so good; they didn't get the needle all the way under the skin. She received the vincristine but also a 'wound' on her lower right front leg (her "right arm" in my book!) which has yet to heal. Of course it would help if she would not extract the dressing, tape and all, everytime we put it on. However, puppies are like that, and she won't stop until her 'collar' arrives. Yes, a soft cone will adorn Haley all the way through Halloween. We hope this will allow her leg to heal and her psyche to remain intact. We will make the cone into some type of season related attire to go along with Roxie's lobster outfit. The good news with Haley: the chemo is working, again, and she is in full remission. Now if we can just get that right arm back to normal, she can possibly pitch in the World Series! Our best to all - keep the faith along with the safe!
